Rainy Days in the Post “El Nino” threat and how ’bout those Red Sox

The clouds are parting today giving us a glimpse of a freshly washed world. Everywhere, the dryness of another California summer has been erased by 3-4 inches of rain over the last 4 days. The local media went into their interesting weather coverage, “STORM WATCH” they called it. While others made fun of them calling the rain coverage “Drizzle Watch”. In either case, we all got a much needed soaking. Unfortunately, the predicted El Nino effect has all but faded and if we’re lucky we’ll get an average amount of rainfall this year. Even with the modest amount of rainfall there was considerable flooding in parts of So Cal and Lake Elsinore has it’s share of cleanup to do. Mostly mud runoff in the roadways and clearing storm drains which should be accomplished in a couple of days.

How about those Boston Red Sox, making history and coming back from a 0 games to 3 deficit in a 7 game post season playoff series. They accomplished this amazing feat right after losing 19 – 8 against the New York Yankees in game 3. Sweet! It was quite the magic carpet ride, no seat belts or parachutes for comfort as the Yankees came 3 outs away in two separate extra inning games only to lose 4 times in a row. (Yankee haters rejoyce everywhere!) Nothing could beat the pained expressions on the faces of Derek Jeeter and Alex Rodriguez while they watched in disbelief their World Series hopes dashed against an all but defeated Red Sox team. Sometimes making history is pretty cool.

Branden Birthday Update
Branden has decided that a family outing to Knotts Berry Farm is what he wants instead of a Birthday Party with his friends. We’ll have a family Birthday Party though, as soon as we can get everyones schedules around it.
