Roseville Move Trip

My trip to Roseville for work went well. We moved the site about 5 miles down the road. My tasks were to set up the computer racks with power and network, remove all networking gear and cables from the old site and set up in the new site. I also coordinated with the ISP technician while onsite to get the cables dropped in the right place. We were able to get the network going ahead of schedule which made my job easier later on. We had enough ports on our switch hardware to make every produciton network port live which should eliminate the need for many onsite visits to add connectivity.

We had breakfast, lunch and dinner most days on schedule because we stayed ahead of schedule. Finally a move that was well planned and went right for the most part. There were a few hardware issues and reconfiguration issues that we dealt with.

The flight to and from Sacramento were uneventful. I played baseball on my PSP on the way out and listened to music on my iPod on the way back.
