Around 2 am Sunday morning local residents were awoken to an unusually loud thunderstorm shaking homes and setting off car alarms as an “Upper Level Low” storm hit the Orange County/Riverside area. What nobody knew was that besides the rainfall that could be heard and wind there was snow falling at 1100 feet and a 2 – 4 inch dusting of snow had colored the surrounding hillsides white.
It was awesome to wake up to a sight we’d normally have to drive to Big Bear to see. It really made you feel in the holiday spirit and that winter had arrived.
