Alas, Move Will Not Happen

Thank you all for your best wishes and prayers for the sale of our house and the hopeful move to Irvine. Unfortunately, this plan did not work out. We had two possible buyers and they both disappeared along with their Realtor when time for the Earnest money and paperwork came. Though the second actually gave the escrow company a check (Which Bounced).

The Buyers Realtor, who’s name I will submit to the California Board of Realtors for investigation. She represented the first and second buyers and repetedly refused to answer phone calls and continued to string our Realtor and us along for months with promises and assurances. The first buyer disappeared and reappeared (Suspiciously) and was apparantly jailed for 30 days for domestic abuse. During this same time (Suspiciously) the buyers realtor was in the hospital (Face Lift)…

During the Housing Market slow down we are experiencing now, where Southern California home sales dropped 26% over the past year, we were on the short end of the statistic. Unfortunately that means Mom will have to rent the Irvine house again and to get past the typical year rental agreement, Stacy and I will probably have to wait 2 years now to try and sell the house again.

There might be good news to go along with all of this; my drive might not be complicated by a 2 year construction project that was supposed to begin in September 2006 to widen a 3 mile streach of Ortega Highway from the San Juan bridge to the Orange County line. This project, if it happens will cause terrible delays for commuters between the OC and Lake Elsinore area. However, I can not find any news of this project on the internet and specifically the Cal Trans web site where all construction plans are posted. With September almost upon us, I guess I’ll find out soon.
