alleymon August 13 was the first day of school for Bailey and Branden. Bailey is now in Second Grade and happy to have something to do after a long summer. He has lots of old friends in his class and is making new ones too.
Branden is now in Middle School and is enjoying his classes. We tried an afterschool program that the school is offering, but they only devote an hour to homework and that just isn’t enough. The program is over at 6pm and with potentially hours of homework this just doesn’t work out. The supervisors also don’t seem to have very good control over the students and I’ve heard complaints from a couple of Branden’s friends.
Stacy is also enjoying the quiet mornings after the kids have gone. I’m sure the time is much more productive. Though she does admit to missing them, a feeling only a mother can relate to I’m sure.
Next month is birthday time again. Branden will be 12. Only one more year until his teens begin. We’ll figure out a plan for the boys birthday celebration, which we usually have sometime mid October.
